“You are the operant power. Nothing happens unless you make it happen.”

Neville Goddard

This is the teaching that changes everything, if you let it. You are not a passive observer of your life. You’re not waiting in line for blessings, hoping your number gets called. You are the one making it all happen, through your assumptions, your beliefs, your inner conversations, the states you choose to dwell in.

Neville called this being the “operant power.” The law of consciousness is always available, always active. But it doesn’t operate by itself. It operates through you. It needs your direction, your feeling, your sustained attention. A radio station is always broadcasting, but you hear nothing until you tune the dial. Your consciousness is that dial.

This isn’t a burden. It’s the greatest freedom you could ever receive. It means you’re not at the mercy of luck, fate, other people’s moods, or the economy. You’re at the mercy of your own imagination, and your imagination is something you can direct. Right now. Today. This morning. You are not powerless. You never were.

Think of every moment today as a choice point. Each time you react to something, you’re either operating from old habits or consciously choosing a new state. The law doesn’t take a day off. It’s always responding to whatever you’re broadcasting. So broadcast something beautiful. Choose the state you want to live from, not because evidence supports it yet, but because you’re the operant power and the evidence will follow your lead.

Today’s Practice

Set an intention this morning with full ownership. Instead of saying “I hope things get better,” say “I am choosing a new state today. I am the operant power in my life.” Then pick one inner state, confidence, peace, abundance, whatever you need most, and deliberately dwell in it for the next hour. Notice what shifts.
