Paramahansa Yogananda (1893–1952) was the first Indian master to permanently settle in the West, bringing Kriya Yoga and the science of self-realization to a global audience. His Autobiography of a Yogi — described by Steve Jobs as one of the books he reread every year — remains one of the most influential spiritual texts of the 20th century.
